Okay site update: there is a new section: Stories have a gander, read the stories then tell me what you think! Please! There is a link to that page in the header.

edit: comments will have to go here because I can’t get them to work on the page.

other things, I am still feeling all weird I think it is simply the lack of stuff to do. If I don’t hear from that one guy by like say, Wednesday, I am going to start applying for jobs at other places. Because

  1. The money would be nice
  2. I am bored
  3. Work is a good place to meet people
  4. It will get me out of the house
  5. It will get me out of this funk

More after the break

O K what else? I have started working on learning flash action script. I have also started re-learning C and C++ because these are valuable job skills and will ‘Teach Me Something’ and quite possibly ‘Build Character’

On a more professional note this caught my eye. It seems there is an increasing market for educational games. This makes me happy as I am hoping to begin working on them. This is kind of a double edged sword though because on one hand it means that people will begin to acknoldge that video games are good for something other than ‘mindless entertainment’. Because I am sure that staring at the TV isn’t mindless but no one really complains about that anymore. At least when something terrible happens no one blames television anymore. Keep in mind I stopped watching television because it depressed me and made me irritable so,, huh makes you think. Anyway I also want to say that my thoughts go out to all those who suffered in those awful terrible attrocities that never should have happened. I also, though, do not think there was any one SINGLE cause. It’s no more use saying guns kill people than it is saying video games kill people. I have no statistics on it but I would imagine more people have been killed with blunt instruments than guns. So lets coat the world in nerf problem solved,, oh wait. So let us all do this

  1. Raise our children. Not pawn them off to video games or TV
  2. Give our children responsibilities. If you just let em do whatever,, guess what THEY WILL!!!
  3. Try and respect our kids enough to know they are not imbeciles.

All well and good from the twenty something guy with zero parenting experience. oh well I plan on having kids someday,,, at this point they may have to be clones OF me since I think I may be anathama to female types,, but that’s not something I want to air out here, at anyrate I plan on having kids someday and when I do I will raise them right and they will be awesome amazing children. Though they will probably be overly hairy if they have to many of my genes, and for that I appologize now. Sorry future spawn of mine!

ANYWAY. Double edged sword. See if it is proven that video games can educate, then it’s not too far  of a stretch to take that and say that violent games can educate children about being violent. I hope not because it is not true. I am not violent and I was raised on Wolfenstien, Duke Nukem and Blood.  If those don’t make you violent, nothing will.
